Two tracks from Eatin’ were leaked to Altered Zones contributor Friendship Bracelet on Friday, and a link to the full project just popped up on Squadda’s Twitter feed this evening. The EP covers a range of styles across 9 tracks and just under 30 minutes.
The first half of the tape finds the North Oakland duo continuing to explore their experimental street rap on tracks like “Blood Money, pt. 5,” “Breath Takin’ N****z,” and “Codiene Chased Out,” while the second half finds them dropping bars over Marley Marl throwbacks, and mid-90s Pete Rock piano loop boom bap. (Not to the mention the heartfelt “R.I.P. Nate Dogg” with the MCs riding an almost country rap instrumental.)
Zoney B Theme Vol. 2 is a 33(!) track collection of freestyles (“rackstyles”) and unreleased early material, which, along with Mondre’s head-turning Dope Since ‘91 tape from last week, caps off a prolific run of Green Ova camp releases in the first quarter of 2011.
At least I think it does. There are still a few days left this month, though…
