Sea Things See Thangs (2010)
Information on this project is scarce, but I can tell you that Sea Things is an experimental electronic project by Michael Floering of Sarasota, FL, that came out back in September of last year.
The music is definitely left-of-center (think Black Moth Super Rainbow meets Tim Hecker to record a Boards Of Canada demo), with plently of field recordings and vocal samples of indeterminate origin, but also lots of processed noise and synthetic shards. Still, See Thangs doesn’t eschew melody and form completely like most noise/experimental acts, but instead retains a percussive backbone throughout the 21 tracks.
Sea Things just jumped onto our radar today after Squadda B of Main Attrakionz tweeted that a collaborative EP between these two acts was on the way in April. If that comes to pass, someone over at Altered Zones is going to need more than a few tissues after they finish listening.
