Western Tink- No Trust (Prod. by Beautiful Lou) (Internet, 2011)
Alright this Western Tink and Beautiful Lou collaboration is a good one. Tink, for perhaps the first time I’ve heard out of him, delivers a compelling rap. A longform meditation on love and trust in a relationship, complete with some nice structure (love that call-and-response with the sample, like a downer version of “Oh Boy”) and strong lyrics (referring to a healthy relationship as one that “felt like suicide”, for instance). Lou continues his winning streak of dark, digitally screwed cloud rap beats, matching perfectly with the lyrics. Looking forward to more out of these two.
