Western Tink “Twerkin” (2011)
Newest video from Austin/San Bernadino’s Western Tink, this time without the prominent w***h h***e act providing the backing track (instead, it’s Los Angeles producer Tae Beast behind the boards).
Tink is definitely post-#based in his approach to video shoots (arguably, the “bedroom-fi” tag has never been more appropriately appointed), and usually I’d tell you to skip ahead to the raps, but the 20-second montage of dude’s CD collection is great.
While Tink has a lot of room to grow as a lyricist, he’s putting together some decent demos and has a good ear for beats (from drag to boom bap in just 3 minutes). At least enough to merit a spin of his forthcoming Hard To Keel tape.
