Fiend Tennis Shoes and Tuxedos (Mixtape, 2011)
So I’ve been pretty psyched on Fiend over the last year since he linked up with Curren$y and started work on the “Flying Iron” series under his International Jones alias. It was surprising to hear a dude historically known as an aggressive, thugged out No Limit associate going in over loungy soul and jazz informed beats, and doing it so well. So kind of out of nowhere today dude went ahead and released a whole mixtape under the International Jones moniker. Tennis Shoes and Tuxedos is pretty much the sort of album I wished Pilot Talk had been. Fiend just makes a more interesting MC, to me. The guest spots from Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA, and Curren$y are pitch-perfect as well. Definitely check this shit out. Tracklist below:
