This is out now. ”Get On My Other Shit” is an early favorite — think “Mixin Up The Medicine” with a sitar and Yukmouth providing the unnecessary cameo (surprisingly better than it reads).
Rest of the tape is pretty standard Bay/mobb fare, with lots of comically large kick drums and buzzing synths, though Turf is talented enough as a rapper to make this enjoyable if inessential. (Granted, still somewhat of a letdown after the energy of West Coast Vaccine (The Cure).)
It’d been a while since we heard from Turf, and while I’m glad he’s back, I just wish that his return would have built on the past, rather than repeat it. Either way, could be worse…I could be jocking Kendrick Lamar.
