Beautiful Lou “Ledetra Bal4head” (prod. by Beautiful Lou)
This right here. I feel like there’s some kind of lo-fi Organized Noize arrangment going on. Like “The Damn” if it were recorded at Based World Studios. Especially the flip to the chorus.
You might have heard Beautiful Lou’s (a Dallas / San Antonio #based artist) production before on Lil B’s “Cocaine” — a screwed, narco-synth ooze with Pimp C., C. Murder and BG — which is definitely one the more thematically interesting tracks in the flood of B’s sonic chaos.
After B’s verse uses the drug as, I think, a metaphor for how his music is compulsively consumed on the internet, the track turns into a pastiche of interview excerpts from the “featured” artists (origins unclear) speaking on the subject of books (?) or something. The interview samples presented without context take on a very based freestyle feel. Or, at least, that’s what I think.
My point is, we’ll be checking out Lou’s forthcoming, Ugly On The Inside. You should too. Check out more of his work here and here.
