Curren$y f/ Killa Kyleon “4 Hours & 20 Minutes (Ride To H-Town)”
I’m not sure what Flex is cooking up (chef chef steak knife) for his singles list, and there’s been plenty of love (rightfully) shown for “Swang Real Wide”, but this is my favorite Kyleon record from the past year.
And while it may not be a “single” in the traditional sense (not even sure where (if) this track appeared on a proper release), since there was a video for, that’s good enough for me (not that I really give a shit about classifying tracks as “proper” singles or not in the Age Of Information).
That tug-boat-sounding lurch, hard-hitting bass, and Kyleon’s ruthless attack on both, during his verse (not to mention Curren$y’s Clipse-esque “Yeahhs”) make this one of my most played records from the last 12 months.
A record that sounds like a smoked out ride down South…what more could you ask for?
