These New Puritans Hidden Remixes EP (2010, Domino / Angular)
That Main Attrakionz edit of “3000” is on this limited 10”, and it’s definitely an interesting way for them to make their debut on wax (Squadda says “the powers that be” came and got him). At the very least, this odd collection of (niche-)blog-buzz artists remixing a rejuvenated indie-blog-buzz act is worth it for the “what the fuck is going on here” nature of the whole thing. I can only hope this is not the last time Squadda and MondreM.A.N. appear on a physical release.
Salem has a remix on a here as well. I think they make witchhouse (witch house?). Or drag…or whatever (not going to say r*** g***…), but we also got some music from a witch house act in the Space Age Hustle inbox tonight, as well and I also see that Serg went in (or off) on witch(h)ouse over here, and I’m thinking how the hell did all of this witch house get into my rap music?
So, if you are like me, you’re probably curious as to what (witch)house sounds like exactly. Well, there I can help: Here is the track that was sent to us (and a bunch of people at something called the Truant Blog) and I’ve embedded the Sound Cloud stream in this post. (NB, however: Between witchhouse and chillwave, I’m really fucking lost here…I always hear these genres referred to, but its like there’s no clarity as to what comprises them or that the names are anything more that complete nonsense made up by privileged stoners), :

I think it’s by o F F/GR†LLGR†LL which is…two separate groups (people)…I think…(Flex tells me that GR†LLGR†LL is a “preeminent” witch house act, apparently…perhaps an oxymoron though?) The track is called “emodancers never stop” (maybe?) or just “emodancers”.
Fuck. Anyway, Main Attrakionz on vinyl. Salem is boring. Something about Altered Beast. Make of that what you will.
