Droop-E f/ E-40 “I’m Loaded” (BLVCK DIAMOND LIFE, 2010)

We don’t do stress, and we don’t do blow mayne

Been waiting for the next single from Droop’s Sade-sampling new project to drop, and this kid simply knows how to put together a record.

It might be post-Labor Day, but this still feels like a summer jam to ride around to at dusk, or sit on your porch and blaze an “L” to.

Plus, when the “War Of Hearts” melody drops out for 40 Water to rip a minimal, drums and clav slap, the record transforms from an airy, soulful track about getting lit to a Sick-Wid-It slumper.  (Not to mention that Earl’s sing-rap flow on top of that reversed sample over his last bars is something that demands your attention.)

BLVCK Diamond Life is on the way.  Directed by Damon Jamal.
